For the 6th consecutive year WBA participated in Canstruction, a national design/build competition that benefits local food banks. By creating structures entirely out of cans, architecture firms from Northern Virginia get to show their creativity while supporting an important cause. For the 2009 competition WBA constructed a large tape measure, complete with the tape extended, out of approximately 1600 cans. The tape measure acknowledges that the balance of the effort to prevent hunger is immeasurably wound up in individual contributions, and that each can is making a difference.
